Re: Pellegrino named as Southampton manager
To be honest I know little of a lot of La Liga beyond Barca, Real, Atletico , Sevilla etc
SO SHOOT ME
I imagine most fans would not be familiar with him.

He took a promoted team to 9th and a cup final.
Good work.
A bit like what PUEL did then with a team that's sold a couple of hundred million of players in the last few years.

"UNKNOWN QUANTITY & probably a bit UNDERWHELMING"

Is this the same Pellegrino who took Alaves last season to the Spanish Cup Final last year for the first time in their history? Only an unknown quantity if you ignore Spanish football.

However thorough their planning is with so many regular changes there is always the possibility that you don't get it right every time
I put it as 'luck' rather than luck for that reason

I don't think what Southampton do is not down to "luck" to be fair

Re: Pellegrino named as Southampton manager
They do have a system and strategy that we could learn something from and seem to have a knack of replacing sold players well .... but they had a wobble with Puel and you can only hope their 'luck' runs out.
Not sure if it's because we were Championship rivals but I've never really liked them and would welcome a COMEUPPANCE

Sven
To be fair to them, when they have banged out previous managers and appointed the likes of Poch the now front wheel supremo, much the same was said
They have a system down there that appears to work, structurally secure and tantermount, the employees from CEO, manager, staff and players are disposable - it's the vision that counts
Have to say, the best run club by a country mile in England and possibly Europe, bang for buck and objective achieved

Slaven Bilic - KNOWN QUANTITY and definitely a bit UNDERWHELMING.

We will soon find out how they compare when the new season starts.

Re: Pellegrino named as Southampton manager
They have a good track record with appointing managers and often its bit of a suprise, even the one they just sacked was hardly a failure? more had issues with the board IMO.

Dont know fuck all about this bloke but at some point Southampton and there good luck in this regard will run out and they get a Grant or Zola.............
